22 APRIL 2012

Went for a visit to the Zambales Mango Festival in Iba.   Occurs every year in April.   Arrived at the booth area at mid day.   Took several photos of the booths and shot one video.   I need to complete an upgrade on WordPress to upload videos.   From 20 to 22 April, the booths are open, and there is music in the evening hours.  The following week is when the town parade occurs.  If you are in Zambales during the third week of April next year, drop by and see what is going on.  After visiting the Mango, headed up the coast via the towns of San Lorenzo, Masinloc and then to Candelaria.   Stopped to view a few of the beach resorts.   Not many visitors that far north, and the majority of the resorts looked a little need of a make over.

20 APRIL 2012

Drove up to the San Antonio area to check out the Capones Island.   Too many people from Manila visiting.   Stayed at the Capones Vista two years ago in late March.   Vista was filled with company outings.    Recommend visiting the area before school lets out in the Philippines.    Capones has become a hot spot for Manila area tourists.   I have photos from two years ago that I will add to my web site, once back in the states.

Boracay Departure – Day Four

Departed the Regency at 0600 AM in a van for a short ride to beach departure area.  Waited no more than 5 minutes to depart on the boat.  Hotel took care of the bags, no worries with the luggage.  High speed boat ride was quick across the bay.    Waited 10 minutes for bus ride back to Kalibo from Boracay Regency Arrival/Departure Beach Area.  Arrived at the Kalibo Airport at 0845 AM.   Airport was really busy, the departure area needs an increase in size.   There are a few eateries on the second floor of the departure area.   Flight arrival into Manila was delayed 20 minutes due to a VIP aircraft.  Who really knows????    After retrieving bags, driver was waiting with van, and then headed back to Olongapo to house.

Boracay – Day Three (19APRIL2012)

Up early for breakfast.   On banca boat at 0730 am for a snorkeling and island tour.   Went snorkeling near Crocodile Island.  There are no live crocodiles, I was told by the boat driver the island looks like a crocodile., but I could not tell.    Current around the island was somewhat strong and the winds were producing 2 to 4 foot waves.   Not perfect snorkeling conditions, actually really rough.

After 20 to 30 minutes of snorkeling, we went to Laurel Island.   I took several photos and about half a dozen short videos.   On the eastern side of the island there was an excellent view of the ocean and the waves were breaking onto the rocks.

Returned to Boracay about 1130 am.   Showered and went to the “D’ Talipapa” area for lunch.   We eat at the Agua Fresh Sea foods.   There are several similar eateries in this area.  When you go to the eaties at the “D’ Talipapa” you have two options; pick from the menu or walk another 50 feet and choose your seafood at the wet market.   Highly recommend that you go to the wet market and bring the selected items to the eatery.   We had three types of fish, crabs and prawns.   I selected Lapu Lapu as my fish,  the head cook at Agua Fresh prepared an outstanding sweet and sour dish.

After resting back at the hotel for a few hours headed to Boat Station three to shot more photos and the video of the sun setting.
